Like a suburban mall food court, Ruby Foo's is all things to all people. Eschewing national boundaries, this Times Square landmark offers dim sum, Pad Thai, a sushi bar and a full range of classic American Chinese dishes like cashew chicken. If you're the intrepid type who likes to scour Chinatown for the most authentic tripe soup, this probably isn't the place for you. But if you're looking for a convivial atmosphere, fun signature cocktails like lychee martinis, and a family-friendly spot to take in a pre-show meal, this is your place. While the menu is reminiscent of your favorite hometown pan-Asian joint, the prices aren't. This is Times Square after all, where a street vendor pretzel sets you back three bucks, and stir fry will cost ya $19.
