Description:
Before the restaurant explosion that came in the wake of the area's art-gallery influx, Moran's was one of the few places to go in the neighborhood if you had to take someone to a working lunch or dinner. Its straight out of Dublin "Irish pub" feel with cheerful yellow exterior and big, old-fashioned bar area also branded it as a hangout for the locals. Food is traditionally American - steaks, chops, pastas, fish - all simply prepared. The portions are big, to satisfy the clientele - mostly business types and mostly male. The dining rooms are clubby, with comfortable chairs and well-spaced tables. An extensive Waterford crystal collection lines the walls of the restaurant. In the winter, the fireplaces give the place a warm, welcoming feel. As the evening wears on, the action switches to the bar, which can get a little raucous, but if you're in the back dining room you can barely hear it.
