Overhauling his Prime Steakhouse, Shelly Fireman has created the swank and shi-shi in that old-school kind of way. Shellys Trattoria la Tradizionale in its place. The new Italian restaurant focuses on surf and turf. The whole fish surf changes daily depending on what fish has been flown in and includes a raw bar and seafood pastas. The turf touches on Italian classics like Veal Milanese, sliced steak with creamy gorgonzola and filet mignon with an Italian version of frites. Serving its midtown clientele well, the restaurant features a bar where classic power meal cocktails think perfect bloody marys, manhattans and dry martinis are mixed up.
