Devotees of soul-food eatery Pink Tea Cup felt the blues when, after 50-plus years, it shuttered this past winter. (Even a grassroots "Save The Pink Tea Cup Campaign" couldn't help.) Apparently, they didn't need a campaignthey needed Lawrence Page: This diehard PTC regular purchased the business from former owner Charles Raye (who's based in Atlanta these days) and reopened it around the corner from its old digs. Page tells us he's kept "99.9 percent" of the old menu, and even brought onboard a longtime PTC chef as the chef de cuisine. The old goodies are still here: smothered pork chop, fried chicken, frog's legs. But Page has added more "health-conscious foods" like seaweed salad and herb-crusted rack of lamb. Another welcome addition: a liquor license, which the former owner happily approves of. "[Raye] was shocked and happy," says Page. "He says he always wanted to sell liquor."
