Description:
Whether it's a yearning for comfort foods in tough times, or just a haphazard trend, the move towards affordable and hearty European cuisine continues at this tiny East Village Slavic restaurant. A spinoff of Park Slope's Korzo (formerly Eurotrip), the menu is an abbreviated version of its predecessor's: a three-sausage "Wunderwurst" plate, hefty burgers and Hungarian goulash. The heart-stopping specialty, however, is the variety of house-made lango--fried dough flat bread topped like pizza with everything from chive crme fraiche to house-cured German sausage. Even the house bacon cheeseburger is wrapped in lango dough and deep fried. A full range of hard-to-find hefty European brews are available on draught and bottled, or you can finish up your indulgent meal with a sweet lingonberry "bon bon" lango and a cup of Stumptown coffee.
