Description:
Scottish cuisine never quite caught on in the States. Maybe it's all the haggis jokes, or perhaps just the fact that people favor their Isle imports in liquid form. But Midtown pub and restaurant St. Andrews has always done healthy business among the theater crowd and those who appreciate a book-length scotch list. The relocated 46th Street location is just two blocks uptown from the original space, and boasts two floors, twice the space, and an expanded scotch list of 200-plus choices. Those looking for an authentic gustatory experience gravitate toward the bubble and squeak, horseradish crusted Shetland Isle salmon, and, of course, haggis. But a long list of chops, seafood and a raw bar offer plenty of options for the more domestic palate.
