If you're an Upper East Side resident who happens to be a fan of good cocktails, craft beer and hearty food, well, it's been a hard slog until this gastropub opened. The space does away with the frat-bar vibe that is popular in the neighborhood (fist pump!) in favor of some old-school British class. Yes, old-school British class includes steak and kidney pies. Starting late February, you can enjoy the Brit-inspired cuisine in the dining room located in the back of the space. If you're looking for something a little more social, eat at the bar area with their toast menu (Welsh rarebit! Scotch egg! Chicken liver and foie grais parfait!) and down a few cocktails (most of them use wine as a base) or brewsa full slew of American and imported label are available. As far as the drinks go, you're in good hands. One of the owners, Yves Jadot, also co-owns Raines Law Room, one of the top cocktail bars in town. They may not serve spirits here, but they definitely dish out class.
