This restaurant promises to bring the cuisine of Northern California to the heart of New York. Judging by the menu of seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, they're determined to leave the Big Apple's heart healthier than they found it. Expect a selection that's heavy on fresh produceif it had to be flown in from South America because it's not in season, you likely won't find it in the dishes here. What you will find, true to the spot's name, is plenty of sprigs in the form of freshly plucked herbs that make their way into the dishes. Oh, and important note: Just because the cuisine is dubbed "Californian" doesn't mean the ingredients will be. The spot stays true to locavore form by promising that most of the foodstuffs will be sourced from the Tri-state area. With all the healthy ingredients and socially conscious cooking, you'll feel guilty eating just about anywhere else. Good thing they serve three meals a day!
