Description:

The newest branch of Trata (sister restaurants are based in Roslyn and the Hamptons) aims to bring genuine Greek cuisine and hospitality to Manhattan. Fresh seafood from the Mediterranean is the focal point, along with using other traditional ingredients to create authentic Greek dishes. Expect chickpea, tzatziki, olives and feta to be thrown into many of the dishes. The menu includes Greek salads, souvlaki on pita, and several fish-based entrees (like a whole branzino with olive oil, capers, yogurt, lemon and string beans). The two seating areas (more sleek inside and a relaxed outdoor area) flow seamlessly as the bar area opens out to the lounge chairs in the front. At the seafood station, you can pick from whole pieces of fish, and the large bar creates a nice nighttime hangout spot (lots of both Greek and American drink choices).
