It was 1975, when Rock and Soul first opened its doors in the heart of New York City.

While we started out as a general electronics store, we quickly turned our focus to records as the center of the DJ scene took root in Manhattan.

We've been selling records ever since.

Of course, as one of the only places in New York to buy vinyl (at one point, anyway), Rock and Soul found among its customer base some of the most influential and up-and-coming DJs.


To satisfy their growing need for turntables, speakers, needles, and gear we expanded our product line into DJ equipment -- and almost by chance, became one of the very first full blown DJ stores in the world.

Today, after more than 34 years at the center of "all things DJ", we're as committed as ever to being the premier DJ Equipment and Record Shop in New York City and abroad.

From in-store events and demos with some of the biggest DJs and music personalities in the industry (Join Our Free DJ Events List)... to an ever-growing selection of top of the line DJ Equipment and records... it's our goal to promote the growth of the industry -- and to help musicians, DJs, producers, and music lovers all over the world find what they're looking for.
