Personal Pilates is a private boutique-style studio located on the Upper West Side in New York City. Founder Theresa Diamond is certified in the classical method of pilates. She discovered pilates during her active curiosity of health and fitness in 2000. She began a work study position with Master teacher Romana Kryzanowska and the Pilates Studio of New York where she earned all of her prerequisite private training hours. She then moved on to Power Pilates and earned her certification after acquiring over 600 apprenticeship hours under the direct tutelage of Bob Liekens. Power Pilates quickly hired her as one of their leading instructors at their new Columbus Circle Equinox location in NYC.

In 2005 Theresa opened Personal Pilates with the dream of creating a unique studio where her clients can work out in a private, relaxed setting with garden views in Manhattan. She works with many clients including but not limited to high powered business executives, brides, dancers, athletes, and even pre and post natal moms who all simply want to look and feel their absolute best!

Theresa is a member and certified through the nationally recognized organization called the Pilates Method Alliance, she is CPR certified, and has a degree in Holistic Nutrition. She also has a bachelors degree in education, graduated with honors and most importantly encompassing a true passion for teaching. She continues to further hone her abilities as a world class pilates teacher by studying different methods and new ideas all over the world.

Theresa recently shared her passion and love of pilates while traveling the world on Semester at Sea as the resident pilates instructor. She taught classes on the MV Explorer and spread the news of the Pilates Method.
