About

Welcome to the events site of David Plakke Media, which has been shooting events in New York City since 1984.

I began my career as a filmmaker and, therefore, a storyteller. Regardless of the event, my teams documentary approach to it remains the same record every aspect as it unfolds in real time to tell the complete, unique story with no detail too small. As a result, its not uncommon for us to shoot between 3,000 and 5,000 photographs per event. Similarly, with video, we may shoot several hours of footage. However, the team also prides itself on being efficient, thorough and unobtrusive in the process.

We then review the image files and, depending on the event, typically select between 500 and 900 files for color correction, editing and creation of an HTML (or Flash) web gallery for download and viewing by clients anywhere in the world. In addition, we provide you with the edited images on DVD in convenient file formats for both print and use on the web. For weddings and Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, we also create an 8.5 by 11 photo book, which we lay out and print at no extra cost. And our video team can provide you with any length footage on DVD and/or the web per your specifications. Regardless, because every event is time sensitive, if images are needed for press right away, consider it done.
