When we opened in September 2004, our goal was to create the best neighborhood store in Nolita, which meant having a majority of wines under $20 in addition to selections from the greatest estates around the world.

Every day our job is to taste wine for you and only keep what we think is delicious. We also offer wines off the beaten path, so you won't see famous labels or commercial brands here: only small producers dedicating their souls to vineyards and organic wines.

In a world of homogenized tastes wine is starting to become uniform and over-produced, when it's possible for each bottle to be a new, delicious experience. Our philosophy is to select from vineyards that promote what the French call "terroir:" a group of vineyards (or even vines) from a specific region that share the same soil, climate, and wine making savoir-faire, giving each wine its specific character.
