Located in Times Square NYC, we teach Los Angeles Style Salsa On1, the most popular style of salsa dancing worldwide and the most affordable salsa classes in NYC! For a small tuition of only $40, you get 30 days of unlimited salsa and latin dance classes with more than 95 classes per month. And with our clear, patient, and professional instruction, classes are fun and exciting, easy-to-learn, and guaranteed to make you look amazing on the dance floor! Our slogan, Transform Your Dance, stems from our mission to transform novices into spectacular advanced dancers, while offering dancers of all levels transformative professional dance technique and repertoire to enjoy the limitless self-expression and beauty of salsa dancing.
In addition to teaching salsa, we also create a sense of community by hosting numerous salsa social events in and around the city, where our students meet to dance socially and make new friends. Events include workshops, dinners, boat cruises, and social dances at many of New York Citys best salsa night clubs.
Founder, Raleau (pronounced rahlow), a former computer systems engineer, is originally from Philadelphia, and began salsa dancing on1 in Philly 7 years ago under the instruction of World Salsa Champion Eli Torres. 5 years ago, Raleau moved to Seattle, WA to work a short contract with Microsoft Corporation. Raleau immediately fell in love with Seattle and discovered a rich and vibrant salsa scene with amazing dancers. When Raleaus contract with Microsoft was over, he had the choice of coming back to the east coast or staying in Seattle. Raleau chose the latter, and began training with some of the West Coasts best salsa dancers including a stint with Bravo De La Rumba, a salsa performance team directed by former world salsa championship competitor, Johnny Bravo, a student of 3-time World Salsa Champion Johnny Vasquez. Later, after giving months of private lessons to numerous students, Raleau decided to offer group classes in Los Angeles Style Salsa On1 and thus was born the Raleau Salsa Dance Company in Seattle, WA.
Also, while in Seattle, Raleau Alphonso (full name) DJd and promoted for two of the hottest Salsa clubs in Seattle Wednesday nights at The Mambo Room, and Sunday nights at See Sound Lounge (credits to DJ Nick & Becka of Seattle Latin Dance). As a DJ, Raleau has an extensive collection of salsa music ranging from classic to new, and knows how to keep a crowd dancing and coming back for more! Now a resident of NYC, Raleau seeks to share Los Angeles style Salsa On1 with New York City.
