TO CELEBRATE THE HISTORY AND IMPACT OF SPORTS IN AMERICA AND AROUND THE WORLD

The Sports Museum of America is a dynamic and interactive venue dedicated to the history and cultural significance of sports. The SMA offers exhibits and events that allow visitors to appreciate a variety of sports, teams, players, coaches, cities and fans. It also serves as a central location for hosting nationally visible sports-related events.

The SMA:

Is the first-of-its-kind venue celebrating the history, cultural significance and worldwide appeal of sports on a local, national and global level.
Provides first-ever access to a diverse audience including millions of metro area residents and domestic and international visitors to New York City
Maintains close ties to existing sports halls of fame, museums and organizations, actively promote visitation to their locations and raising awareness of their venues.
Contributes to New York City tourism generally, by introducing a vibrant family attraction to complement New York City's existing array of cultural experiences.
Assists in the redevelopment of Lower Manhattan specifically, by increasing commercial and tourist activity in the area.
Donates a portion of ticket sales to selected charities and foundations.
