Description:

Philosophical Library is a small company created in 1941 by Romanian born philosopher and scholar Dagobert D. Runes to publish the works of European intellectuals, many of whom fled Europe in th 1930s. These distinguished men and women gave birth to the remarkable ideas that helped to define the 20th century.

For over 60 years, Philosophical Library has been a consistent and reliable source of serious readers, libraries, academic institutions, and book sellers worldwide. We have published more than 2,000 titles in hardcover and trade paper with a focus on psychology, philosophy, religion, and history. Philosophical Library has been the home for 22 Nobel Prize winners and has published works by the most eminent minds of our time, including Albert Einstein, Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, and Albert Schweitzer.
